While Jack and Amanda are familiar types of characters to romance readers, they are still enjoyable and sympathetic. While Amanda is sometimes pricklier than I prefer my heroines to be, she is also smart, determined, and independent.

I have come to respect Ms. Kleypas as a writer who creates lisa kleypas suddenly you prose and unique sub-plots in her work. While Suddenly You begins with a very unique premise for the hero and heroine's first meeting, I found much of the rest of the book to be standard soap opera plotting with a lot of repressed lisa kleypas suddenly you and misunderstandings.
I have also become a fan of the deep, dark emotions found in many of Ms. Kleypas's other books and which I feel she is masterful at writing.

While this book certainly was emotional, lisa kleypas suddenly you did not quite touch me to the core like some of her other works. I think part of the reason for this is the more sarcastic, sharp-tongued banter between the hero and heroine which sometimes worked for me and sometimes didn't.
Mistaking Jack for the man that she sent for, Amanda shares an amorous moment with him before she recovers her senses and pushes him out the door. Briars' 1st unpublished novel "An Unfinished Lady" and his intention of becoming acquainted with her so they could work together and "polish" the novel lisa kleypas suddenly you publication.
Claiming a friendship with Amanda and failing to mention all the relevant facts, Mrs. Bradshaw sends Jack to Amanda's house at the specific date and time the hired prostitute should be knocking on Amanda's door.
Needless to say, Amanda mistakes Jack for the prostitute and he's a little confused at first, not understanding what she's talking about. Being an intelligent man, Jack quickly realizes what's going on and is rather amused.
Does he come clean and tells her who he is? He goes with the flow and gives her the best birthday present ever.
He does leave without revealing his identity, though.
